Save My Star

Save My Star is a UK-based charitable organisation dedicated to honouring and supporting Pakistani athletes, entertainers, and performers who have contributed significantly to their fields. From legendary cricketers to beloved actors and singers, we aim to recognise their efforts by organising special performances and events across the UK.

We understand that many of these stars have faced challenges in their later years, and our organisation is committed to ensuring that their legacy lives on. Our events provide them with a platform to continue showcasing their talents while offering free entertainment to UK residents, all made possible through sponsorships from generous organisations and supporters.

We envision a world where the stars who have shaped our cultures are celebrated, supported, and never forgotten. Through our efforts, we aim to:

  • Ensure financial and emotional support for the stars of Pakistan’s entertainment and sports industries.
  • Foster cross-cultural understanding and enjoyment for UK residents through live performances and engaging events.
  • Build lasting connections between the UK and Pakistan through cultural celebrations.

At Save My Star, our mission is twofold:

  2. To offer UK residents free, high-quality entertainment while supporting the very icons that inspired generations.

By organising events and performances across the UK, we create opportunities for these stars to continue their legacy and gain recognition, all while bringing joy to diverse communities in the UK.

Our Programs & Events

1. Performances & Live Shows

We have and will continue to organise free live performances featuring top Pakistani entertainers, musicians, and sports personalities. Whether it’s a nostalgic concert, a theatre performance, or a sports clinic led by legendary athletes, these events offer a chance to reconnect with your favourite stars.

2. Cultural Festivals

We host cultural festivals celebrating Pakistan’s rich heritage through acting, poetry, music, dance, and sport. Our festivals will bring a slice of Pakistan to the UK, with food, entertainment, and activities for the whole family, celebrating the unity between the two nations.

3. Sports Clinics & Meet-and-Greets

For sports lovers, we aim to bring you closer to your heroes! Attend exclusive sports clinics led by Pakistan’s legendary athletes or join us for meet-and-greet sessions where you can interact with your favourite stars, ask questions, and take part in friendly competitions.

4. Charity Fundraising Events

Through special sponsorship events and fundraising activities, we raise money to support retired stars, helping them manage their health, financial security, and well-being. Your support goes a long way in ensuring that these icons are remembered and appreciated.

Profile of Syed Asim Bukhari, Patron in Chief

Syed Asim Bukhari is a distinguished Pakistani figure, known for his diverse career as a retired banker, TV, radio, stage, and film actor, as well as an accomplished poet. As an author of three Sufi poetry books, his contributions to literature and the arts are widely recognized.A pioneer of Pakistan Television’s Lahore Centre, Syed Asim Bukhari has been associated with the institution since 1965, also working with other stations including Islamabad, Quetta, and Peshawar. He gained popularity for his roles in some of Pakistan’s most iconic dramas such as Ali Baba Chalis Chor, Ghar se Niklay, Bakht Nama, Janjal Pura, Muhasra, Sanwari, and many others. His acting career spans over 200 films, including notable titles like Ladies Smuggler, Bol, and Wrong Number.

Syed Asim Bukhari’s contributions also extend to the world of radio and theatre. He wrote several plays for Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television. His theatre journey began in the early 1960s, and one of his standout performances was his portrayal of Hazrat Shah Inayat Qadri in Ajoka Theatre’s internationally acclaimed play Bullah, a role that took him around the globe.
In recognition of his lifelong dedication to the entertainment industry, Syed Asim Bukhari was honored with the prestigious Pride of Performance (Presidential Award) in 2014.

As someone who has been part of Pakistan’s entertainment industry since the early 1960s, I have witnessed the dedication and passion our heroes pour into their work. Their contributions have shaped our culture, entertained generations, and brought pride to our nation. Yet, many of these stars face immense challenges later in life, often without the support or recognition they deserve.

Save My Star was founded to support these unsung heroes. Our mission is to provide much-needed assistance, whether it’s through healthcare, education, or basic necessities, to those who have once brought joy to our lives. As the Patron and Chief Organizer, I believe that supporting our stars is not just an act of charity but a responsibility we all share.

Profile of Syed Asim Bukhari, Patron in Chief

Ajlal began acting at 7, debuting in the popular PTV Punjabi drama series Ajj Dee Kahani. His breakthrough role was Imran in the long-running and most popular PTV drama series Ainak Wala Jin. This series, one of the longest-running dramas in PTV’s history, has been re-telecasted multiple times due to its popularity.
Throughout the 1990s, Ajlal continued to establish himself as an actor, performing in notable drama serials and series like Janjal Pura, Khuffia Jazeera, Urran, Ghulam Gardish, Mirza Ghalib and Quaid-e-Azam. His association with Radio Pakistan began in 1994, where he worked as an actor and child host. In 1996, Ajlal joined Ajoka Theatre Pakistan, where he has been a key performer, stage manager, and event coordinator, contributing to several acclaimed productions.
Ajlal’s career extended internationally, working as a news producer, editor, and presenter for Vectone News in the UK. He also hosted numerous TV shows for various UK South Asian channels.

Since 2021, Ajlal has been an integral part of Radio Faza in Nottingham, hosting special shows and interviewing prominent figures from Pakistan’s showbiz industry. Besides his association with the showbiz industry, Ajlal is an educationist and career coach.

Welcome to Save My Star, an initiative born from a deep sense of responsibility and urgency towards the icons who have contributed immensely to Pakistan’s cultural and sporting heritage. As someone privileged to be part of the entertainment industry from a young age, I have witnessed the immense dedication and passion our stars bring to their craft. Yet, it is heartbreaking to see many of these very individuals who have brought us joy, laughter, and pride struggling to make ends meet in the later stages of their lives.
Save My Star was created to give back to those who have given so much to us. Our mission is simple: to support the unsung heroes of Pakistan’s entertainment and sports industries by providing them with financial aid for essential healthcare, education, and basic necessities.
Our journey has just begun, but we are dedicated to making a real impact. We understand that every case is unique, and we take a personalized approach to ensure each star gets the help they need based on their circumstances. This is not just about charity; it is about acknowledging these individuals’ contributions to our national identity and standing by them in their time of need.
